Beaumont School Holiday home was built in the 1870's and remained a school until the 1980s. It is now converted to a comfortable holiday home, suitable for a couple, families or small groups.
The property has one inside bedroom, plus a separate, private sleep out with a double bed in it. There are three additional beds (one double and two singles) in the spacious lounge which can be made into a separate, private sleeping space. The lounge suite includes a fold out sofa bed as well.
There are two toilets (boys and girls of course!) and a separate walk in shower room. There is a small, functional kitchen with plenty of cutlery. For groups staying a longer time there is an additional fridge available.
We have a great library with a good range of New Zealand reference books, ideally for looking up that bird or plant you have just seen.
There is a large garden and playing field for children, or adults, to run around in. There are outside chairs and furniture. The Clutha River is a short walk away, as is the Beaumont Hotel, an authentic New Zealand country tavern. They do dine in or take away food. There is no store at Beaumont, it is 20 km away, so bring your own food with you.
